...

All year long, we put off special projects, trips and outings, telling ourselves, “I’ll do that this summer.” Well folks, we’re here to tell you that unfortunately, there’s only about a month left of this non-endless summer. So before school is back in session and schedules begin to fill, cross some items off your summer bucket list. And if you haven’t created your must-do list, we’ve done the work for you.

1) Build a sandcastle at the beach. Or if playing in the sand isn’t your thing, a dip in the ocean or throwing the Frisbee along with shore with friends and family is just as much fun!

2) Pick fresh summer blackberries, blueberries and raspberries at a nearby farm. Click the following links to find perfect picking pastures in Canada and the U.S.

3) Take a hike along a nearby walking trail. Here’s a great source for finding a walkable route, either in your hometown or wherever you happen to be traveling this summer.

4) Cool off at a splash pad. Rather than sweating it out on the swings, take your kids to a park where getting wet is the #1 priority. Here are splash pads in Los Angeles, Chicago, South Florida, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

5) Buy yourself some peanuts and popcorn and take in nine innings of baseball, cheering on your home team.

6) Frequent a food festival. Here’s a list of some highlights from around the U.S. (we’re partial to the Austin Ice Cream Festival) and in Canada.

7) Check out your local drive-in theater and take in a summer flick from the comfort of your car. Here’s a directory of drive-in movie theaters. If there’s not a spot near you, check your local parks and community centers for special outdoor showings.

8) Grill up some dinner outdoors. Here’s our green grilling guide for tips and tricks to make for eco-friendly fun (and deliciousness!).

9) Rock out at an outdoor music festival. No matter where you are or what kind of music you enjoy, there’s a version of Coachella perfect for you.

10) Sleep outside. Spend a night in the great outdoors, even if those outdoors are in your own backyard. Here are a few tips for summer camping success.
