Time-of-Use Plans
Time-of-Use (TOU) plans offer lower electricity rates during off-peak hours. Shift activities like laundry or running other large appliances to nights or weekends to take advantage of the rates. How Residence Type Impacts Home Energy
Single Family Home
If you live in a single family home, you’ll have an individual meter for electricity or gas that you can check easily to monitor your usage. Smart meters allow you to regularly keep track of your usage and easily switch to a new home energy company without interrupting service.
Condominiums
Condominiums may have individual meters, giving you the most control over your residential energy provider, while others use submeters or master metering, where your usage is calculated as a portion of the building’s total. If you’re renting, learn about our flexible Renter’s Choice Plan—designed to fit your lifestyle.
Mobile Home
Mobile home parks typically have master metering. If yours does, know that park owners can’t add surcharges or additional fees on to your bill—you pay the same electricity or natural gas rate that the energy provider charges. Master metering doesn’t allow residents to choose their individual energy company, but in some cases residents do have a say in which provider the park chooses.
Apartments
Apartment complexes are similar to condos in that energy metering varies between building types. Some buildings use individual meters, while others have master metering or sub-metering, similarly to condominium complexes. - Just Energy will help you find a plan that fits your needs. Please note that new plans will come with a new contract and the end date of the new contract will change to reflect the terms of the new plan. There is no fee to make a plan change, but you will be subjected to the terms and conditions of the new plan as an existing customer.
- While Just Energy does not charge any fees for transferring services within Texas, please check with your utility for potential additional charges. In the event of a utility change due to relocation, you must choose a new plan.
Stat Rewards program is valid for Texas customers only. Upon acceptance, you will receive a half-cent ($0.005) discount per kWh used within 1 – 2 billing cycles. This discount will remain if your thermostat stays connected and you remain active in the program. You will also receive a $50 bill credit within 90 days of acceptance.
You must own an approved Amazon or Honeywell thermostat to be eligible and maintain an active status in the Connected Savings ® platform. View the list of approved thermostats here.
If additional information is not required, you have a smart meter, and your enrollment is received before 12 PM CT, your enrollment may be accepted on the same day. Same day enrollment only applies to move-ins. Speak to a customer service representative for more details.
