How does the Refer a Friend program work?
If someone you know referred you to Just Energy, you're in for a treat! When you sign up using their unique referral code or link and pay your first bill in full, both of you will receive a $75 bill credit—applied within 1–2 billing cycles. It’s a win-win for joining a service your friend already trusts.
Where do I enter the referral code?
During the signup process, you’ll have the option to enter your friend’s referral code or use their referral link. If you received a QR code, simply scan it to get started.
When will I receive my bill credit?
Once your first full month’s bill is paid, we’ll apply the $75 credit to your account within 1–2 billing cycles. Your friend will receive their credit at the same time.
How will I know when the credit has been applied?
We’ll send you an email notification once your bill credit has been successfully added to your account.
Can I enroll a business through the Refer a Friend program?
At this time, the program is only available for residential customers enrolling in postpaid energy plans.
What do I need to do to qualify for the $75 bill credit?
To make sure you and your friend receive the reward, here’s what’s required:
- You must enroll in a 12-month (or longer) postpaid residential energy plan.
- You must pay your first full month’s bill.
- Your friend’s account must be active and in good standing.

- Terms and conditions apply. The Refer-A-Friend program is applicable exclusively to Texas customers. Just Energy retains the right to modify the credit amount at its discretion, and the issuance of credits is subject to the company’s discretion. Upon successfully enrolling a new customer (Referee) in a residential plan lasting 12 months or more, using the unique Referral Code of the referring customer, and upon the Referee’s payment of their initial full-month Just Energy electricity bill, both the Referring customer and the Referee will each receive a one-time bill credit within 1 – 2 billing cycles. It should be noted that Just Energy holds no responsibility for issuing bill credits on enrollments received without the Referral Code. The bill credit possesses no cash value and is solely applicable as a credit on an active customer’s Just Energy bill. Any remaining bill credit will be carried forward to the next billing statement and is non-transferable. This offer is valid solely in conjunction with applicable plans accessible directly on our website or via phone. Each customer must maintain active status, their account must have an on-time payment history, and must remain on a postpaid residential plan throughout the referral process. The referral code must be used during enrollment and cannot be applied retroactively. Just Energy referral codes are exclusively valid on plans offered by Just Energy. Employee electricity plans or referrals do not qualify for Refer-A-Friend credit. The unique referral code of the Referring Customer is unlimited in its usage.
- Just Energy will help you find a plan that fits your needs. Please note that new plans will come with a new contract and the end date of the new contract will change to reflect the terms of the new plan. There is no fee to make a plan change, but you will be subjected to the terms and conditions of the new plan as an existing customer.
- While Just Energy does not charge any fees for transferring services within Texas, please check with your utility for potential additional charges. In the event of a utility change due to relocation, you must choose a new plan.
Stat Rewards program is valid for Texas customers only. Upon acceptance, you will receive a half-cent ($0.005) discount per kWh used within 1 – 2 billing cycles. This discount will remain if your thermostat stays connected and you remain active in the program. You will also receive a $50 bill credit within 90 days of acceptance.
