Enrolling with Just Energy
It’s quick and easy to enroll in our solar buyback program. As long as you have a solar energy system already installed on your home and a smart meter to get the most accurate information on the electricity you use and generate to send back to the grid, you simply select and enroll in a Just Energy fixed-rate energy plan. You’ll also need to contact us to enroll in our Solar Buyback Program by signing a Distributed Renewable Generation (DRG) Agreement to sell the electricity you generate back to us, which could lower your energy bills and costs.
From there on out, you can get buyback credits listed on your monthly bill if you send excess production from your solar system to the grid.

To qualify, customers need to have solar panels and a smart meter installed. This meter measures energy consumed from the grid and the energy you send back to the electricity grid when your solar system is generating excess power.
Depending on the size of your solar system and the weather conditions (how sunny it is), your solar panel system could generate excess energy. You can use those excess generated kWh to your benefit by returning power to the grid and selling that power back to Just Energy to reduce your monthly electricity bill.
Can I Sell Excess Solar Energy Back to the Grid in Texas
After your solar system is interconnected with your utility, you can sell excess solar energy back to Just Energy after signing a Distributed Renewable Generation (DRG) sell-back agreement with Just Energy and by enrolling in one of Just Energy’s electricity plans.
